This spectacularly remote Munro lies in the Cairngorms National Park to the north west of the Linn of Dee and south west of Ben Macdui. Beinn Bhrotain stands at 3,796 feet (1,157 m), and, no matter which direction you approach from, it requires a lengthy walk-in and an enjoyment of isolation. It’s a vast, bulky mountain with a lumpy southern side and an exquisite, near-vertical northern face.

Beinn Bhrotain is a 3,796-foot (1,157 m) Munro in the Scottish Highlands. Although it sits quite close to popular mountains in the Cairngorms National Park, like Ben Macdui, Beinn Bhrotain is infrequently ascended in comparison. The terrain is rough and it feels very remote.

One of the more remote Munros of the Cairngorms, an ascent of this is usually tackled from Glen Feshie or from the Linn of Dee.

There is a very loose and long boulder field near the top when approaching from Glen Feshie or Monadh Mòr. We descended in the Linn of Dee direction, which had fewer loose rocks to navigate.
