There are more Scottish mountains named Beinn Bhreac than you can shake a stick at so before you begin planning any expeditions, make sure you’re heading for the one you think you are. This Beinn Bhreac is a Munro to the north west of Braemar, alongside Glen Derry. It’s twin-topped, with its highest summit found at 3,054 feet (931 m) and it’s other, the eastern peak, at just 13 feet (4 m) lower.
This remote Munro is best reached from the Linn of Dee car park to the south, a few miles west of Braemar (which is a good place to pick up snacks). There’s a fairly long walk-in along Glen Lui but you can speed it up by cycling the first section, and leaving your bike at Derry Lodge. You then ascend Beinn Bhreac by its steep, south western flank. If you fancy a double-Munro outing, you can bag the northerly Beinn a’ Chaorainn, found across a massive plateau.
Beinn Bhreac is a 931m Munro mountain in the Scottish Highlands. We approached the mountain from Derry Lodge in the Cairngorms National Park. We had walked to that point but many cycle on mountain bikes. Ascend out of the Caledonian Pine forest onto moorland and up onto the summit ridge.

Approaching from Derry Lodge is the most straight forward way to tackle this Munro, however once leaving the glen there is little in the way of paths. After a fair amount of heather bashing the summit is easily identified, and there are some great views.
