The castle is one of the most important building complexes in Hungary and belongs to the Fertö / Neusiedler See world heritage and was built between 1763 and 1766. The magnificent, baroque building with the beautiful castle garden is definitely worth a visit.
The castle is open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in summer. It is closed on Mondays in autumn and can be visited on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry costs 2,500 HUF.

A 300-hectare French garden surrounded the palace, which was modeled on the park at Versailles. In the 19th century the garden was converted into an English park, much more like the current gardens, where walkers are still welcome. The main arteries of the park were lined with smaller alleys and clearings on which buildings or statues stood.
