Great rock formations as if erected by hand

A strange rock formation is referred to as the "Teufeltisch" (901 m), around which the following saga is based:

The devil just came over Fahrnbach. Then he was very hungry. Because he didn't have a table with him, which is understandable, he quickly built one out of boulders. A meal was already enchanted when the Glashüttenglöcklein started ringing at twelve o'clock from Unterbreitenau. The devil couldn't stand it and flew away through the air.
You can still see the stone table with the traces left by the devil.

The "Teufeltisch" can be reached via hiking trail No. 3. From there you have a wonderful view of the Weißenstein castle ruins and the district town of Regen.

The Teufeltisch (901 m) is a legendary rock formation near Bischofsmais in the central Bavarian Forest, which today serves as a heavily frequented hiking destination. It forms its own small ridge with considerable rocks along the ridge height.

A popular hiking trail, which however requires surefootedness, leads from Bischofsmais to the Teufeltisch, then along the rocky ridge with beautiful views again and again to a fork in the road, where it continues down to Habischried or Tiefenried. This hike can be combined well with the neighboring Geißkopf.

There are several routes to the actual Devil's Table. The normal route leads upwards in difficulty level II +. On the south side there are two more routes of difficulty IV and IV +
