    Chirk Castle was completed in 1310 during the reign of Edward I as a statement of English intent to the last remaining Welsh nobility. These days, the castle is a great place to explore with stunning gardens and 480 acres of estate parkland; home to wild ponies, sheep, and a well-preserved section of Offa’s Dyke. The castle estate sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its rare invertebrates, bats, fungi, and wildflowers.
