The red wine hiking trail in the Ahr Valley has been one of the most popular excursion destinations in Germany for more than 40 years.
Over a distance of 35 km, it mostly leads halfway through the vineyard terraces from Bad Bodendorf via Bad Neuenahr / Ahrweiler to Altenahr. You have beautiful views of the wild and romantic Ahr Valley and you can watch the winemakers at work.

The Ahr valley is best known for its viticulture. The wine festivals that take place from the beginning of September to the end of October in the individual wine towns, especially in Altenahr, Mayschoss, Rech, Dernau, Walporzheim, Ahrweiler and Heimersheim, are known far beyond the Ahr Valley.
