The border between Bavaria and Hesse runs over the Heidelstein. If you take the time and take a break here, you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Lange Rhön. The Kreuzberg is easily recognizable by the masts in a southern direction. If visibility is good, the Hohe Meißner can be seen in the north, the Thuringian Forest in the east and the Große Feldberg in the west.

Please be careful when dealing with nature, especially here in the nature reserve. Take the beautiful pictures and memories with you, but above all the garbage and always stay on the paths. Thanks a lot.

The Heidelstein transmitter is located on the 926 m high Heidelstein in the Franconian part of the Rhön. It consists of a 218 meter high guyed tubular steel mast built by Deutsche Telekom AG in 1969, which carries antennas for radio relay and for broadcasting TV and VHF radio programs.
