In 2006, the municipality of Calvia bought the area of the Finca Galatzo. Since then, the area of the finca has been accessible to everyone free of charge. Since then, the finca has been entitled "finca publica". The finca has an area of 13.5 km², and the area of the buildings on the finca is 5,000 m². The area of the finca includes a particularly beautiful section of the Mallorcan high mountain landscape. The flora and fauna as well as the changes in the plants and animals in the area caused by human activities over the past centuries are remarkable. The historical architecture of the buildings on the finca is very valuable. There are many archaeological sites on the finca.
