Excavations that took place here in 1904 revealed that a monastery once stood on the site. The foundations of a church and the remains of the monastery building were found.

If you are on the bike path between Hüttenfeld and Lorsch, you can see the former shepherd's shelter, which was built from the stones of a former monastery, the so-called Bruchhäusel.

In 1851, shepherds built the house that is now part of the city's property, presumably on the remains of the wall of the Hagen Women's Monastery - the third monastery in Lorsch's district next to the actual Lorsch Monastery and its original Altenmünster monastery on the Weschnitz.

The rotunda has no door and is open all year round. Where homeless people used to spend the night, a metal grille protects the memorial plaque to “commemorate the Hagen Monastery”.

Three years are immortalized on it: 1141, the presumed year of founding of the convent by Bormard Burchard II of Worms, 1851, year of construction of the Bruchhaus, and 1970, the year in which the Lorsch Heimat- und Kulturverein founded the tree-lined grounds with explanatory boards and benches gave today's shape.

In terms of tourism, the place plays almost no role. But the architectural reference to another monastery should definitely be preserved, if only because it is a listed building.
