I've always driven from Todtmoos in the direction of Gersbach. The route is clearly visible over large areas; at the top are some real curves. I could also imagine driving it downhill and braking sharply in front of blind spots. The normal road is probably preferable.

The road surface is good to very good (03/2022), in the upper area a little bit less here and there. Gradient mostly 5-8%, short passages but also 12-14%.
