The Château de Chambord is one of the jewels of the Centre-Val de Loire region. Built in 1519 during the reign of François I, the castle is the largest of the Loire castles.
A particularity, its architecture clearly inspired by the Gothic style also responds to a medieval model of fortified castles. Its construction remains spectacular: the castle has 156 meters of facade, 44 meter high dungeons, 426 rooms, 77 staircases, 282 chimneys and 800 sculpted capitals. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 and recorded on the list of historic monuments since 1841.
