Hiking Highlight
A very idyllic spot on the Spree.
New Venice is a residential and weekend house in the Berlin district Rahnsdorf (local situation Wilhelmshagen) referred. It is located on the Müggelspree between Dämeritz and Müggelsee south of the Fürstenwalder Allee. The Spree forms at this point a small delta, in which five channels branch. Most of the land in this area is water, many of which have a jetty or boathouse. In the aftermath of the Second World War, New Venice was inhabited by bombed-out families. During the GDR period mainly officials of the SED got a weekend property ("dacha").

New Venice is most beautiful from a boat. The district of Rahnsdorf is not suitable for hiking. You only come across the canals on the bridges. But then you have a nice view.

Should be seen - but best from the water!
Or by bike.
As a pedestrian you walk from bridge to bridge on roads, almost only on the bridges have a view of the canals.

A touch of Spreewald. Unexpected: The extensive water settlement in Rahnsdorf

So sailing rum with the boat is really cool. But for hiking and walking, I think there is not enough hiking / walking trails. The bridges are not that well maintained either
