Tips

The Lemberg belongs to the Lemberg, Hochberg and Oberhohenberg mountain group. This is located on the Albtrauf south of the village of Schömberg and north of Spaichingen and has been replaced by the actual Alb plateau, further south and west.

The Lviv, 1,015 meters high, has a conical structure and is clearly separated from the neighboring mountains within the mountain group. It is a witness mountain that is upstream of the plateau of the Swabian Jura in the northwest. The Lviv is continuously forested, with the conifers predominating. A small part of the plateau of the Swabian Alb has been preserved on the flat summit of Lviv.

The Swabian Alb-Nordrandweg and the Donauberglandweg lead over the summit. The 33 meter high observation tower on the summit is always open. It is necessary to be free from giddiness to climb the steel lattice tower.

  • Arrive and stay at the barbecue, at the benches and just be there. Children can play here, dogs can run free and a protected sunbathing area is also possible below the tower on the open space.

  • After having laboriously climbed the Lvov, it is absolutely necessary to go to the tower. Even if that is exhausting again, the tower may fluctuate a bit and it can also be quite draughty - the view is really worth it!

  • Come here again and again to enjoy the stunning views, a big thank you to the Albverein who cares for so many years (anno 1899) for the preservation of the tower.

  • Lviv is the highest mountain in the Swabian Alb. For the ascent to the tower you should be free from giddiness and bring some courage. You will be rewarded above by a breathtaking view. A real highlight every turn. The refuge at the tower offers a rest opportunity even in the rain. Several benches also for larger groups are available on the meadow.

  • Great view over the foothills of the Alb to Rottweil and far beyond. The test tower looks like a toy with its highest viewing platform in Germany. The tower sways a bit, so not for the faint of heart and it is a donation requested by the Albverein for maintenance - with a box on the rise.

  • A great legend courted "Zeugenberg", so one calls the kind mountain, to which the Lemberg belongs as well as the mountain on which the castle "Hohenzollern" stands

  • What can one say, it is the highest mountain in the Swabian Jura (1015m). A trip is always worthwhile and the hut is very often (weekends, public holidays) hosted.
