In the basement you can empathize with the gladiators ... tapes, puddles of water, beams, dark ... but you walk cleanly over a wooden walkway :-)

Trier also has more to offer underground than many other cities with a Roman history

Unfortunately, tickets for the amphitheater are not available on site. At best, go to the tourist office at the Porta Nigra.

The entrance fee of 4.00 euros is well spent, if only because of the Arenakeller. Great insights into the world of the Roman era.

Worth seeing

For me, the highlight of the city tour of Trier. Even if it's a bit out of the way, it's worth it.
