The oldest castle complex in Germany high above Lake Constance also includes a mill from the 17th century.
Squeezed into the sandstone rock, the water power from a small brook was used here until 1952. To increase the efficiency, the water is directed over a channel to an overshot wheel. With a diameter of 7.80 m, it is one of the largest waterwheels still in use in Central Europe.
