The route planning from Pfronten to Schattwald into the Tannheimer valley, along the Vils, recommends the route past the Hotel Rehbach. But it will be difficult for touring bikes!
The Hotel Rehbach, with really nice views of the Tannheimer valley, can only be reached via a very steep and narrow hiking trail. My wife could not even push her touring bike uphill. The route planning for MTB, however, selects the singletrack on a wide gravel road to Schattwald and not at the hotel.
