It is assumed today that the Garath knight's seat already existed in the 9th century. The Knights of Garderode resided here. However, the origins of Garath Castle have not been clarified exactly. At the end of the 14th century it belonged to the knights of Kalkum. The name Garath Castle has only been in use since the 20th century, previously people often spoke of the Garath house. At Garath Castle, the Rietrather Bach and the Galkhauser Bach flow into the Garather Mühlenbach. (Source: Wikipedia 2020)

The Garather Castle was first mentioned in documents at the end of the 13th century. It can be assumed that it was a former knight's seat. Only in the 20th century is there talk of a castle, formerly called `Haus Garath`
Close to the Garath Castle, the Galkhauser Bach and the Rietrather Bach are merging into the Garather Mühlenbach. The nature is ideal for walks, walks or cyclists.
Garath is a district of Dusseldorf.
