When you approach the Bismarck Tower, you first think of a Nazi monumental building. But it is older, it was created at the end of the 19th century. Some wealthy and enlightened citizens had it built to thank Bismarck for joining Bavaria to the German Empire. There are many details to discover, such as beautiful Art Nouveau fonts. And the view is just amazing!

If you take a closer look at Bavaria's sights, you can't miss the Bismarck Towers. With these buildings, the Bavarians erected a monument to the Prussian politician. But why? It was thanks to Bismarck's negotiating tactics that Bavaria was the last southern German state to join the German Empire. Within a very short time, several men from Bavaria and other German regions managed to establish the "Society for the Honor of His Serene Highness Prince Bismarck". Nevertheless, the Bismarck Tower near Assenhausen is different from all comparable buildings.
