Nature reserve and local recreation area in the immediate vicinity of the Revierpark Wischlingen. Numerous butterflies, amphibians and rare water bird species live here. T. rest here on their "draft". Coots, gray herons, tufted ducks and cormorants are easy to spot. There is also a large colony of black-headed gulls. Bats also still live in the Hallerey.

The lake in the Hallerey was created by subsidence at the beginning of the 20th century. Initially, the lake was still used for the coal washing of the Dorstfeld colliery. The area is an example of the combination of nature and industry. The lake and swamp area, which is divided by hedges, is surrounded by dense undergrowth and near-natural wet meadows. Huge climbing plants grow around the trees along the hiking trails, but you can't see much of the water itself.

The pond created here as a highlight is not the Hallereyteich. This one is in the Revierpark and is NOT locked. I couldn't find a name on Komoot or Google Maps.
