The castle was built at the beginning of the 18th century in place of a hammer.
In 1909, the Holzschuher sold the castle to the Thaler family Panzer, who still owns it today. After extensive renovations in the years after 1999, the roof structure burned down in 2003; Fire-fighting water affected the rooms below. Thanks to the great commitment of the Panzer family, the damage was repaired by 2006.
The castle cannot be visited, but it looks impressive from the outside.

Hiking

Built at the beginning of the 18th century in place of a hammer property. The Holzschuhersche Hammergut was first portrayed in 1702 through a copper engraving by J. A. Boener. Only a few years after the engraving was made, the Hammergut was badly damaged in a flood in 1707, so that Sigmund Elias Holzschuher had the old buildings demolished and replaced with new ones. A new hammer lock was built in place of the old seat.
