Here you drive on the edge of one of the rare high moors in the Odenwald. There grow rare heather herbs, grasses, willows and peat moss and here live some rare animals, for example many dragonfly species. It goes without saying that you stay on the paths. Incidentally, this bog gets its name from its very ferrous water, which shimmers reddish.

The many roots make the trail a bit challenging. But you should take it easy anyway so that you can enjoy the nature reserve.
