A truly beautiful destination!

There's a parking area 300 meters from the lookout tower, from which a path through meadows and woods leads to the tower. At the top of the platform, you'll find information panels about the magnificent view, a wooden bench, and summit registers, which are unfortunately quite tattered.

"Looking from the 40-square-meter viewing platform at a height of 26 meters, the SternGartl/Gusental region unfolds before you with its gently rolling hills and ridges. This hilly landscape extends far into the Waldviertel region, and on a clear day, the radio tower in České Budějovice (Budweis) can even be seen to the north. In good weather or during a Föhn wind, the view stretches far beyond the province of Upper Austria. From the Dachstein massif to the hills surrounding the Pyhrn-Priel region, the view also opens up to the Styrian and Lower Austrian Alpine foothills, dominated by the Ötscher and Schneeberg mountains..."
