Josef Mengele, a concentration camp doctor in Ausschwitz, had carried out experiments on Sinit and Roma using cruel methods. This memorial contains 174 eyes - some individually, some are pairs of eyes. A group of students led by the Günzburg art teacher Brigitte Tschörner was responsible for the creation of the memorial.
