The Roque Nublo (Clouds Rock) is considered a landmark of Gran Canaria and is about 65 m high. The Roque Nublo was important at the time of the Guanches as Holy Mountain. They had built a place of worship on which the sun god was sacrificed.
A visit is definitely worthwhile. But the way there is already very nice. There are always great views of the other rock monoliths near the Roque Nublo (for example the "monk"). If you stand directly on the rocky plateau in front of the majestic Roque Nublo, the rock monolith looks very impressive and sublime.
Tip: In the morning or early morning are usually not so many people there. We were almost the only visitors and could enjoy the Roque Nublo undisturbed :-)

Very nice tour, partly stony paths. Good hiking boots recommended. Only in good dry weather. Great views. On the plateau, it can get crowded, especially on weekends, when tourists are pouring up from the nearby parking lot. On our tour from the other side of the mountain, we only met two hikers.

From here you have a great view in the surrounding canyon landscape of Gran Canaria. In clear weather you can see as far as Tenerife.

a striking basalt rock to which the climb is worthwhile. Fantastic round-about-view

Although not the highest mountain in Gran Canaria, at least the most rewarding summit, both the Aussich and the hike itself are more beautiful than the Pico de las Nieves.

At almost 90 meters high, the monolith "Roque Nublo" rises, which is considered an island landmark and is a memory of a distant past shattering. He has inspired painters, writers and musicians. The local composer and writer Néstor Álamo described him as “Lírica piedra lunar”, lyrical moon rock, or “Altar de mi tierra maga”, altar of my enchanting homeland.

The Roque Nublo is a landmark of Gran Canaria. Early appearances secure parking and motifs with significantly less tourist crowds

Mainstream, but something of impressive. A lofty place on our earth.

A worthwhile hike on Gran Canaria. From Roque Nublo you have a beautiful view in three directions.

A boulder - you can climb up comfortably - on the high plateau just before the Roque Nublo is suitable for a nice photo motif:
The two rocks of the Roque Nublo suddenly seem quite small if you position yourself and the photographer correctly. The photo looks particularly funny with "tiny" people in the background.

It's best to be there at least half an hour before sunrise.

A very nice tour.
And at the same time the landmark of this country.

Great panoramic view from above, it has a bit of a Martian landscape up there. :)Those who are brave and free from giddiness can climb between the large rocks and catch an unbelievable view of parts of Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura in the distance. Very nice photos are possible, but you have to be a little tired of life. 😬

Magnificent view, nice tour, wonderful landscape.

By far the most visited mountain on the island, although it is not the highest mountain in Gran Canaria.

Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the hike, but it's easy to find. Duration about 2 hours round trip.

A unique volcanic landscape. Please leave the flip flops where they belong to the beach or come with your orthopedist.
