Nestled in the Rabenstein Forest lies the 6.5-hectare Rabenstein Reservoir.Whether you want to exercise in the water or relax on the expansive lawn and 400-meter-long beach, your stay here will be an experience.In addition to swimming, rowing, or pedal boating, there are also table tennis tables and volleyball courts.There's a giant slide and a playground for children, and a nudist beach for those who particularly enjoy the sun.The lake was created between 1972 and 1976 as the core area of the municipal Oberrabenstein Local Recreation Center and opened as a swimming lake with rowing facilities in 1976. The Oberrabenstein Local Recreation Center included a campsite, a nudist pool with a sauna, and a game reserve with horseback riding and driving facilities. After reunification, the local recreation center was dissolved as a municipal operation, and the individual areas were incorporated into other municipal operations or privatized.
