Antbeginn's mill in Westerwiehe was probably built shortly before 1750. It is considered the youngest of the Rietberg Emsmühlen. The name “Antbeginner” means “duck catcher” and refers to the former hunting of wild ducks. There was a separate catching facility near the mill for this purpose. Around 50 wild ducks were caught every day and sold all the way to Holland. However, when the Ems regulations began in the 1930s, the wild ducks stopped. The trap fell into disrepair. The mill business itself flourished until the 1950s. However, the wheels of the mill have stood still since 1975. Today an organic farmer works in the listed natural stone building.
