Wolfsschanze was one of the Führer headquarters and the main residence of Hitler since the attack on the Soviet Union in 1941. This was built in 1940 and had numerous flak positions. On July 20, 1944, Colonel Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg carried out an explosives attack on Hitler during a briefing.
