In late summer and autumn, when the Lech River's waters are less pronounced, it flows through the wide gravel bed in many narrow branches. Due to its distinctive appearance, this section is called the "Lech Braid" by the inhabitants of the Lech Valley. In spring and summer, meltwater rushes down the valley in large quantities, and you can admire its distinctive turquoise-blue color.
