The place of the "Staufen oath" with a stunningly beautiful view over Kelkheim, Frankfurt and the Taunus heights. An absolute must!
The entrance to the Mannstein from the south is very steep, but then becomes more moderate again in the last meters. The condition of the forest path is very good and was easy to drive even in muddy conditions.
The brothers and freedom fighters Friedrich, Heinrich and Max von Gagern promised each other here in 1838 that they would do everything together for the unity and freedom of Germany. The "Staufen Oath" was implemented in Frankfurt's Paulskirche, where Heinrich von Gagern was elected the first President of the National Assembly in 1848.
