Best Hikes to The Rumps Iron Age Fort

Tips

  • From the Iron Age fort on Rumps Point, you can see the offshore rocks, which are known as Sevensouls and the Mouls, and can see for miles out into the Atlantic and over the rugged coastline. Excavations on The Rumps have revealed that the fort once had stone faced ramparts and circular houses at the headland. Many late-Iron Age ‘native wares’ made from the gabbroic clays of the Lizard Peninsula have been found here, too.
