The Capuchin Forest in Tervuren is part of the larger Sonian Forest and is a beautiful walking area with a varied landscape. The forest is famous for its Geographical Arboretum, an open-air museum of exotic tree species that was created between 1902 and 1920 by King Leopold II. The arboretum covers 100 hectares and is home to more than 700 species of trees, including impressive sequoias and araucarias from the Andes.
