With the acquisition of the Burgweiher site, a new local recreation area is created for the St. Gallen population (previously it was privately owned). The fencing will be removed by the end of the year. By around March 2020, new unpaved footpaths will be built. Seating should make the picturesque landscape come alive. However, swimming in one of the two ponds will not be possible: "The space as a protected area will continue to be guaranteed"
