Bierenbachtal is a district of Nümbrecht. The town stretches along the valley that gives its name from the mouth into the Bröl up to the municipal border between Nümbrecht and Wiehl in the north-west or to Oberiernbach in the north-east. In 1316, the place Berinbech was first mentioned in the "division of the people of Nümbrecht". The present town of Bierenbach Valley has grown together over time from the formerly separate towns of Bonekamp, Driesch, Grumeth, Kalkofen and Niederierenbach.Until the beginning of the 20th century, limestones were extracted in the area of today's Bierenbach Valley. Until the 1950s, a small railway station for the Bielstein – Waldbröl small train was located in the Kalkofen district (near today's bus stop).
