The Wetzlarer Hauptwache is a late classicist building from the Prussian period that was built in 1861. From 1862 to 1877 it served as a guard station for the 8th Rhenish Jaeger Battalion. It was the home of the police until 1972. Today it is a restaurant right next to the cathedral.
