A unique landscape, castles steeped in legend, towns steeped in history, vast fields and natural monuments: there are many reasons to visit the Eichsfeld region in the heart of Germany. The "Devil's Pulpit" near Lindewerra, a red sandstone block at about 452 meters, towers into the sky here. And for centuries, Hanstein Castle, one of the largest and most beautiful castle ruins in Central Germany, has defied wind and weather. The Seeburger See, in turn, is regarded as the “eye” of the Eichsfeld. The entire region in the border triangle of Thuringia, Lower Saxony and Hesse is also known as the Tuscany of the North.
