The factory, known under the code name "Goldfish," was relocated to a gypsum mine to protect it from air raids. Thousands of people worked there under inhumane conditions, including concentration camp prisoners who were forced to expand the tunnels and produce aircraft engines. The nature trail now serves as a memorial. Information panels along the route explain the historical background and highlight traces of the past, some of which the forest has reclaimed.

The goldfish trail is a circular trail designed for the concentration camp prisoners and forced laborers employed in Obrigheim (Baden) during the Nazi era. On the ten stations of the approximately two and a half km long path on the western bank of the Neckar, the various, partly heavily destroyed, visible buildings of the production plant are explained. It was an underground relocation of an armament production of aircraft engines that was important for the war effort. Here, too, prisoners were tortured to death.
