On the broad ridge of the Small Ettersberg, the bear-hill bears trees east of the village. It is the last hill of a former very powerful grave mound, which was removed. An excavation was carried out by Vulpius on behalf of Goethe. The place was used since the Neolithic as a burial ground and cult place. (Wikipedia)
