Wüstenbach (Murr)
The Wüstenbach is an approximately 13 km long stream in the Rems-Murr district in Baden-Württemberg, which flows into the lower Murr from the right just above Burgstetten. Its right main stream upper reaches are called Rohrbach, which accounts for about half of this length.
The Wüstenbach rises under the name Rohrbach in a forested area in the northeastern municipality of Aspach, about 600 m south of the Amalienhöhe, at about 470 m above sea level. NHN in the so-called pipe blade. It initially flows to the west and picks up some other spring branches. Then it turns to the southwest and emerges from the forest into the fields, flows past the hamlet of Steinhausen on the right and then takes up the Mauswiesenbach from the right. It feeds a few fish ponds, passes the hamlet of Einöd on its right bank, after which the Gräbenbach flows into it a little below from the right and turns to the southeast. It passes the village of Kleinaspach on its right, from which the Krummenbach flows into it and then reaches the western edge of the hamlet of Röhrach, where the Grasmultenbach flows into it from the right.
After this rather small tributary, it is called Wüstenbach and flows approximately south until it flows into the river. It now runs east past the hamlets of Karlshof and Wüstenbachhof, between them the Diebsbrunnenbach flows from the west, then west at Fürstenhof and then enters the district of Kirchberg an der Murr. Here it passes a shell limestone quarry close to its left, leaves Zwingelhausen on the right and now reaches a forest area in a fairly deep valley again, where the district boundary of the town of Backnang moves to its left bank and sometimes even briefly crosses it. Here, steep slopes line the river halfway up the valley, and sinkholes are often found further up the hill. The stream now briefly enters the Burgstetten area and then flows after about 13 km, about one kilometer northeast of the first valley houses in Burgstetten, at about 221 m above sea level. NHN from the right into the lower Murr.
