The castle Crottorf, occasionally also written Castle Krottorf, is a moated castle in the Wildenburger Land two kilometers west of the village Friesenhagen in the eponymous municipality, which is located in the district of Altenkirchen in the northeast of Rhineland-Palatinate and near the border with North Rhine-Westphalia. It stands in the valley of the Wisser on the foundations of a medieval moated castle, which was first mentioned in a document in the first half of the 14th century.
