Jedinghagen is a locality in the municipality of Marienheide. First mentioned on May 4, 1467, when "Heyne van Jeidinckhagen" was a jury member at the High Court of Neustadt.
Until the end of the 19th century, the place bore the name Gedinghagen, which was changed over the course of time through the pronunciation in Low German to today's spelling. The oldest surviving house in the village dates from 1607.
