The monastery of St. Herakleidios is now a convent. A new church was built above, with a cemetery for the ladies. The two sarcophagi of Herakleidion and Mnason stand in the old church. Herakleidion was the first Bishop of Tamassós, after a baptism in 45 by Paul on his missionary journey. Herakleidion was martyred in the Tamassós market square.
Unfortunately, no photographs are allowed in the monastery church. The reason is the prohibition of flashing light.
