Brick paired with half-timbering - it couldn't be nicer!

The "Privileged Pharmacy" is located in Reinbek at Klosterstrasse 5.
It was built in 1817 as a schoolhouse for the Steinhof and Neuhof parcel community.
From 1838/9 it was a royal Danish privileged pharmacy, as the successor to the organist and schoolhouse from 1796, which burned down in 1817.
In 1882 it was expanded with a classicist portal with two Ionian columns, beams, flat triangular gable and round-arched skylight door.
The pharmacist Volkmar Wegner (1846-1912) lived here, as well as mayor, registry office and police chief of the Reinfeld municipality from 1886 - 1912.

When serfdom was abolished in 1772, the Neuhof and Steinhof farms were divided into plots that were given to the now free farmers on a leasehold basis. For these two newly founded communities and the town of Reinfeld, the first joint sexton school was built here, which burned down in 1817. In 1824 the new “parcel list school” was completed here on Klosterstrasse. But this quickly became too small. A larger school was built on the desolate Schlossplatz. In 1839, 238 schoolchildren moved there. The “Privileged Pharmacy” was set up in the former school building with royal Danish privilege in 1838 and can still be found here today.
