The source streams of the Isar are located in the Hinterautal between the two central Karwendel chains at an altitude of 1,160 meters. The confluence of these streams is referred to as the "Isar origin" or "Isar source". The cycle path up to here is easy to drive on, at the source of the Isar a rest area invites you to linger.
