Mountain Biking Highlight
Buchenbühl has been a district of Nuremberg (Statistical District 86 - Buchenbühl) since July 22, 1922 and is located northeast of the city center. The district is almost completely surrounded by the Sebald Reichswald and is bordered in the north by the A3 and the Kraftshofer Forst, in the south by brick and in the southwest by Nuremberg Airport.
The settlement was built in 1919 immediately after the First World War on the initiative of the "Soldiers' Council at III. Army Corps ”on the westernmost spur of the Haidberg, below the“ Buchenbühl ”. Jakob Schmeissner and Ludwig Ruff worked as architects. In order to employ the dismissed soldiers and arms workers who had become unemployed, the Reichswald south of the Gräfenbergbahn was cleared without permission and without funding. The original center of settlement is the Paulusstein, a memorial stone located on the connecting road from Nuremberg to Kalchreuth and Heroldsberg.Further information: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buchenb%C3%BChl
