Small desert in the forest. Fascinating relic from the last ice age! Or look into the future?

In Central Europe, inland dunes and shifting sand fields are spatially separated from the coastal dunes on the North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts. They are wind-blown, aeolian formations of sand (dunes). They were mainly blown up under cold climatic, periglacial conditions at the end of the Weichselian or Würm Ice Age, i.e. a little over 10,000 years ago. Their development in the post-glacial period is mainly based on human influence.Source: Wikipedia
