A library founded in the 37th year of the Meiji era (1904) with the donation of the library building and the cost of the book purchase by Sumitomo Kichizaemon Tomoito, the 15th heir to the Sumitomo family, which has been doing business in Osaka since the Edo period , was built. It was originally called Osaka Library, but was later renamed Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library. In the 11th year of the Taisho period (1922), the left and right wings were added as gifts (important cultural assets of Japan). This library is a stately building with three-layer stone walls and an ascending dome covered with copper sheet. It was designed by Magoichi Noguchi and Yutaka Hidaka, the architects of the Sumitomo Temporary Architectural Department. Antique texts, Osaka-related documents and business-related books are kept in this library. Japan's important cultural asset. Because of its quiet and accessible location, many researchers and book lovers visit this library even though it is already around 100 years old.
