The Carmelite Monastery Church of the Holy Spirit is a three-aisled brick Gothic hall church with a monks' choir and was consecrated in 1430. Planned as a court church for the new castle on the Danube and as one of the burial places of the Lower Bavarian Wittelsbachs of the Duchy of Bavaria-Straubing-Holland (1353-1425).
Redesigned in Baroque style by Wolfgang Dientzenhofer, Giovanni Battista Carlone, Diego Carlone and Paolo d'Aglio (1700-1710). High altar wall and tabernacle altar rising to the ceiling. Altarpiece depicting the Pentecost miracle by Michelangelo Unterberger. Late Gothic miraculous image "Madonna of the Nettles", Christ of Mercy and Madonna with Child (1470/80).
