This place has always been surrounded by legend, including that of the giant Mahan (a pre-Hispanic warrior who stood 22 feet tall and had 64 molars) who is said to be buried under this mountain. Everything is due to the abundance of water left by the trade winds as they pass through the mountain. At the beginning of the 20th century, an attempt was made to find the origin of the water and a small tank was built to collect the water. After the excavations, the neighbors who had been going there for a long time to collect water and ask the mountain for help, thought they saw the image of a virgin on the wall and a small chapel was built to worship the virgin and thank her for the water. at the same time as asking for help with all kinds of issues. In 1981, the carved figure of the Virgin was placed there, which has been carried there in a pilgrimage every May since then.
