Denmark's largest red deer sanctuary is located in the area between Blåvand and the Ringkøbingfjord. The herds, which live completely free here, can sometimes be observed directly from the paths. There are viewing points at Kærgårdvej and Grærup Havvej. From here you can see part of the area around Grærup Langsø. Be sure to bring binoculars!
The animals roam freely, so you can also see red deer in the clit plantations of Vejers, Vrøgum, Børsmose, Kærgård, Blåbjerg, on the meadows around Filsø and in the plantations around Blåvand.
Around 1200-1600 animals are said to live in the entire area.
The area around Grærup Langsø is in a military area. Military exercises are to be respected. When an exercise is taking place, red marker balls are hoisted at the borders of the military area. The thoroughfares are blocked by barriers during the exercise.

Somewhat hidden, a path leads to a wonderful vantage point with an unobstructed view of Graerup and the protection zone. A bench invites you to rest.
