Very nice monastery complex. The modern fountain looks disturbing at first glance, but then fits in well with the inner courtyard.

The fountain is enclosed in winter.

The Minster is an architectural gem spanning many eras and is very well preserved.

From the 13th to the 17th century, the cathedral was the burial place of the Hohenzollern family. Several high graves can be seen in the central nave, and further graves are in the crypt.

The frequently changing art exhibitions in the cathedral are also worth seeing. The contrast between the Gothic cathedral and modern art is very attractive.

With the consecration of the monastery in 1136, it was handed over to the Cistercians. This order was named after the original monastery of Citeaux in Burgundy and, thanks primarily to the personality of Abbot Bernard of Clairvaux, grew into the most important monastic order in the 12th and 13th centuries. From 1132 to 1139, the monastery church was built as a Romanesque basilica, but was soon remodeled and expanded in the Gothic style. The central nave, the northern aisle, parts of the transept, and the choir still remain from the Romanesque structure. After the Second World War, the changes, which took place primarily during the Baroque period, were reversed. The original condition has largely been restored.
Bernard of Clairvaux, the great Cistercian mystic, once said: "If you are wise, prove yourself to be a bowl... the bowl waits to be filled... I would not want to become rich if you become empty in the process..." In the former Cistercian monastery of Heilsbronn, the newly designed cloister area features the three-bowl fountain, typical of these monasteries, with a modern interpretation.
